Speed Dating EXTREME

This is a fundraiser show for my trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

If you thought dating couldn’t get anymore awkward, think again!

Forget Tinder, we’re taking it back to 1998, when speed dating was all the craze. Comedian Molly Sokhom is hosting this party and inviting her funny friends to do some stand-up comedy, play games, and just make things weird.

We're looking for adventurous singles who want to let loose, laugh, and make love...connections, in under 2 minutes. This could be the best 2 minutes you’ll ever have in your life or the longest, most uncomfortable experience ever...

Bear Week Entertainment

Neil-Thornton-C1.jpg

Join one of the original Bears of Comedy for a night full of outrageaous comedy!

One of the original Bears of Comedy, Neil performed his unique brand of smart and furious comedy in New York City, Washington D.C., Provincetown, Fire Island, and the Poconos. He was the originator of New York's sold-out all-bear comedy revue, "Funny. Furry. Fierce.” which went on to be a massive hit at Bearweek New Zealand, and he was one of the founders of "MAULED: The Bears of Comedy” in Provincetown.

Since moving to New Zealand a few years ago, he’s performed in Australia, Japan, and throughout New Zealand, from major bear and pride festivals to tiny hamlets in the middle of nowhere for confused sheep farmers. His shows "Ursus Americanus,” "Bearly Kiwi,” “Hangry Americans” and “Cynics Guide to Enlightenment" were a hit at New Zealand Fringe Festivals and International Comedy Festivals. He makes regular appearances on the New Zealand television comedy news show The Project and was featured on the TV3 comedy special After Hours.

Gay Icons

gayicons_banner.jpg

Representing the far ends of the life-cycle of the average homosexual, two of the funniest gay stand-up comics in New Zealand--James Malcolm (2016 Billy T Award nominee, TV3’s AotearoHA) and Neil Thornton (TV3’s After Hours)--entertain you as they vie for icon status. A different special LGBTQAI+ guest icon every night!

James Malcolm started performing stand-up comedy when he was just 17, his first time coming out as gay being on stage. He then went on to win the 2014 Raw Comedy Quest and receive a Billy T Award nomination in 2016.

Neil Thornton is certainly the funniest married gay bear comedian living in New Zealand. He has performed all over the world, from big city pride festivals to small towns on the South Island, from New York’s historic Stonewall Inn to the Porirua Soccer club. In the United States, Neil was a regular in New York comedy clubs, and performed in Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Provincetown, and Fire Island. He's a favorite at Auckland and Wellington comedy clubs, and recently appeared in the TV3 comedy special "After Hours."
